Para una pareja, el primer día del resto de sus días debe ser absolutamente inolvidable. ¿Por qué no llevar esta celebración a un entorno natural deslumbrante? Una experiencia única para amantes de la vida al aire libre.
La Patagonia es un escenario soñado donde cualquier aventura es posible. Viajar alimenta el alma y también el corazón. Entonces, ¿por qué no casarse en la Patagonia? Una boda a orillas del río, en medio del bosque, en la cima de una montaña o en un velero navegando el lago, debería ser absolutamente memorable. Sobre todo, para aquellas parejas que buscan una celebración fuera de lo común y que aman la naturaleza.
Son muchos los detalles que hay que organizar para “el gran día”. Lo ideal siempre es contar con el asesoramiento de profesionales que puedan interpretar las necesidades y gustos de la pareja para poder armar la boda que ambos sueñan. El trabajo de wedding planner es desafiante y consiste en escuchar, interpretar, acompañar y asesorar en todo lo que hace a la celebración: diseñar, distribuir correctamente el presupuesto, dar identidad a su boda, planificar, organizar, coordinar y supervisar cada detalle del evento. Una boda, aún la más sencilla, implica una producción donde intervienen distintos actores –catering, ambientación, música, entre otros detalles- y su trabajo consiste en diseñar íntegramente la boda coordinando a cada uno de ellos, llevando adelante un trabajo en equipo para que todo sea perfecto.
“No se trata de una fiesta más: es una celebración que tiene que estar plenamente identificada con los novios. Conocer qué es especial para ellos para trasladarlo al evento es fundamental. De esa forma cada boda se vuelve única porque cada pareja es un mundo”, explica Tasha Filomeno, directora de Esencia Weddings, empresa dedicada al planning integral de bodas en la Patagonia. Ella y su equipo interdisciplinario diseñan y planifican cada etapa de la celebración según las preferencias de los novios y siempre haciendo hincapié en la sustentabilidad ambiental durante todo el proceso. Un trabajo artesanal y a medida dedicado a plasmar en la ceremonia la personalidad de la pareja.
Mucho antes del gran día, es necesario definir la locación, el estilo de la boda, la ambientación y todo lo relacionado con la ceremonia. “Me gusta preguntarles por qué se casan y qué buscan generar con esta unión”, afirma Tasha. A partir de allí se define cómo será la celebración en base a las preferencias de la pareja, poniendo especial atención a la ceremonia. “Nos gusta hacer un guion para la ceremonia, porque todo gira en torno a ese momento que tiene que tener un sentido emocional muy fuerte”, asegura.
Contigo hasta el fin del mundo
¿Quiénes eligen este tipo de celebración? “Son parejas aventureras a las que les gusta viajar y estar en contacto con la naturaleza. En su mayoría, son extranjeros. Son bodas chicas, hasta 150 invitados”, explica acerca del perfil de los novios. Las “Destination Weddings” son bodas que se celebran fuera de la ciudad o país de origen de la pareja y son una tendencia en alta. Antes que una fiesta tradicional en un salón, cientos de parejas en el mundo deciden emprender una aventura que los lleve juntos al otro lado del mundo para celebrar su amor, junto con su familia y amigos más cercanos.
Esencia Weddings cuenta con socios estratégicos para encargarse de toda la organización y logística antes, durante y después de la boda: traslados, alojamiento, fotografía, video, gastronomía y actividades al aire libre durante su estadía en la Patagonia.
La primera boda
El comienzo de Esencia Weddings fue ni más ni menos que el casamiento de Tasha y Nahuel, su esposo desde hace 4 años. Ambos aman la naturaleza y se conocieron hace ocho años en una expedición dirigida por Nahuel, guía de montaña. La misma montaña donde nació el amor fue el escenario para su boda: el cerro López, en Bariloche. Cada instante contó con el sello original de ambos. Hasta allí llegaron amigos y familia de la pareja, luego de un intenso trekking de 45 minutos. La ceremonia fue oficiada por un amigo de ambos, Javoo -mago y gran showman también-, quien escribió un speech muy emotivo, con metáforas del libro “El Principito”, sólo que esta vez la protagonista no fue una rosa sino una piedra. “Nahuel en todas sus expediciones lleva una piedra como talismán. Esa piedra fue pasando por las manos de los invitados para que la carguen de buenos deseos y energía”, cuenta Tasha. Bajo un hermoso altar decorado con flores, los novios se convirtieron en marido y mujer. Sus testigos, el inmenso lago Nahuel Huapi, el cerro Capilla y un poco más atrás, el imponente Tronador. Una postal soñada para el primer día del resto de sus vidas. Luego de la ceremonia, ambos hicieron rappel hasta descender a otra “repisa” de la montaña, para compartir con los invitados una gran picada hecha por Pachi, la mamá de Nahuel, y la cerveza artesanal elaborada por Catriel, hermano de Nahuel. “Fui muy feliz rodeada por nuestra gente más querida”, recuerda Tasha.

The region offers endless options: a wedding by the river, or in the woods or on a mountain top or on a sailing boat across a lake should be absolutely unforgettable. Especially for those nature-loving couples, who are looking for something a bit more out of the box.
As any couple knows, the “big day” requires careful preparation and attention to detail. Ideally, you want to get professional help from people who can understand the couple’s needs and tastes, so as to put together the wedding of their dreams. Wedding planner is a challenging job that consists of listening, understanding, supporting and providing advice in every aspect of the celebration: from design and budgeting to personalizing the wedding, and everything in between, such as planning, organizing, coordinating and supervising every detail of the event. A wedding—even a simple one—entails a full production, including catering, set-up, music, etc. The wedding planner’s job consists of designing the entire event, coordinating with all of the service providers so that the whole team performs in perfect harmony.
“It’s not just any old party. It is a celebration that needs to reflect the bride and groom’s personalities. Knowing what is special to them so that it translates into the event is essential. Thus the wedding becomes unique, because every couple has their own story,” says Tasha Filomeno, head of Esencia Weddings, a wedding-planning company in Patagonia. Tasha and her cross-functional team design and plan the celebration step by step, according to the bride’s and groom’s preferences, while focusing on environmental sustainability during the whole process. This is a detail-oriented tailor-made job intended to infuse the whole ceremony with the couple’s personality.
Long before the big day, there are details that must be decided: the wedding’s venue, style, set-up and everything else related to the ceremony. “I like asking them why they are getting married and what is it that they wish to generate with their union,” says Tasha. At that point, decisions are made as to what the celebration will be like based on the couple’s preferences, paying special attention to the ceremony itself. “We usually prepare a script for the ceremony because everything revolves around that moment, which emotionally is the highlight of it all,” she adds.
Together to the end of the world
Who chooses this type of celebration? “In general it’s adventurous couples who are wanderlusters and love the outdoors and being in touch with nature. Typically, they are not Argentinean, they come from all over the world. These are not big weddings, up to 150 guests”, she says about the couples’ profiles.
“Destination Weddings” are weddings that are celebrated away from the bride and groom’s city or country, and they are a rising trend. Far from committing to the traditional party in a dance hall, hundreds of couples from all over choose an adventure that takes them half way around the world to celebrate their love, surrounded by their family and closest friends.

The first wedding
For Esencia Weddings, it all started when Tasha and Nahuel—her husband for four years now—decided to tie the knot. They both love nature, and in fact, they met eight years ago in an expedition led by Nahuel, who is a mountain guide. That same mountain where they fell in love—Mt. Lopez, in Bariloche—became the setting for their wedding. Every minute of it had their original and personal touch. Family and friends attended and gathered in their chosen location, after an intense 45-minute hike. Javoo—a magician and showman who is a very good friend of the bride and groom’s—officiated at the ceremony and gave a very emotional speech with metaphors from the book “The Little Prince”, but instead of a rose, the story revolved around a stone. “Nahuel takes a stone to every expedition, as his very own talisman. That stone went from hand to hand around the attendees so that they deposited their good wishes and energy in it”, Tasha adds. At a gorgeous flower-decorated altar, the bride and groom became husband and wife. Their witnesses were the huge Nahuel Huapi Lake, Mt. Capilla and, a little further away in the distance, the magnificent Mt. Tronador: quite the dream-like postcard for the first day of the rest of their lives. After the ceremony, they both rappelled down to another plateau in the mountain, to share with their guests a generous cold cuts and cheese platter prepared by Pachi, Nahuel’s mom, paired with craft beer brewed by Nahuel’s brother Catriel. “It was such a happy occasion that we got to share with our dearest friends and family,” Tasha remembers.
