Hollywood’s Bleeding (Post Malone)
Editado el año pasado, el último disco de Post Malone ha logrado afirmar la fama y popularidad del cantante y rapero nacido en Nueva York. En esta ocasión Malone ofrece un disco personal de 17 canciones que se define por el constante salto entre géneros musicales, siempre abordado desde una mirada oscura. El álbum incluye ataques a amigos falsos, confesiones sobre relaciones fallidas y mensajes dedicados a los haters. Los cantantes Future y Halsey (“Die for Me”), SZA (“Staring at the Sun”) y Swae Lee (“Sunflower”) le agregan color al disco. Pero el protagonismo queda en manos de Ozzy Osbourne, quien aporta su voz tenebrosa en “Take What You Want”, el momento más destacado, junto a “Circles”, dedicada al ocaso de una relación intensa.
Everyday Life (Coldplay)
La banda inglesa Coldplay regresa con su octavo disco de estudio titulado Everyday Life, un álbum dividido en dos partes, Sunrise y Sunset, en las que encontramos canciones más tranquilas, en un caso, y más movidas, que invitan al baile y a corearlas en masa, en otro. En esta ocasión dejaron de lado algo su cuidada vena melódica para acercarse a unas canciones más corales, más de divertirnos, de hacernos compartir buenos momentos con los amigos en sus conciertos. Y para ejemplo no hay más que escuchar el primer corte, “Orphans”. Coldplay ha conseguido crear un disco redondo que le va a gustar tanto a los primeros fans del grupo como a todos aquellos que se han ido sumando a lo largo de los años.
Cheap Queen (King Princess)
Cheap Queen es el álbum debut de King Princess, una de las nuevas promesas del pop mundial. Nacida en Nueva York como Mikaela Strauss y apadrinada por Mark Ronson, la joven de solo 20 años ha sorprendido al mundo con un disco fresco y atrevido con letras que la muestran abiertamente como una artista gay. King Princess además compone y toca todos los instrumentos, logrando un trabajo que termina siendo un compendio de buenas canciones de soul y R&B mezcladas con pop, que entretienen y nos dejan con ganas de más.
Cry (Cigarettes After Sex)
Cigarettes After Sex es una banda tejana de indie pop liderada por Greg González, cantante y guitarrista, quien con una propuesta algo oscura ha captado gran cantidad de seguidores en todo el mundo. Cry es su segundo disco de estudio y en este caso mejoran su fórmula slow-core: guitarras cristalinas y voces casi susurradas para unas canciones que son melancolía en estado puro. Un álbum agradable, con temas que van creciendo a medida que se repiten las escuchas y donde González realiza un dibujo del amor y el desamor que, como David Lynch y Lana del Rey, cada uno en su estilo, le deben mucho a la estética de los años ´50.

Hollywood’s Bleeding (Post Malone)
Released last year, Post Malone’s latest album has successfully consolidated the fame and popularity of the New York-born singer and rapper. This time, Malone offers a personal 17-song album defined by constant genre-hopping, approaching each song with a dark tone. The album includes attacks on fake friends, confessions about failed relationships and messages dedicated to haters. It also adds a different vibe to Malone’s flow with guest appearances from Future and Halsey (“Die for Me”), SZA (“Staring at the Sun”) and Swae Lee (“Sunflower”). But it’s Ozzy Osbourne’s ominous voice on “Take What You Want” that steals the spotlight in one of the highlights of the album, along with “Circles”, a song dedicated to the final moments of an intense relationship.
Everyday Life (Coldplay)
British band Coldplay returns with its eighth studio album Everyday Life, which is split into two parts, Sunrise and Sunset, offering more relaxed songs on one side and more upbeat floor-filling singalongs on the other. For this album, the band has put aside its carefully crafted melodic DNA to explore more choral sounds that will no doubt give its fans many fun and cheerful moments at live shows. If you need any evidence of this, just check “Orphans”, the album’s first single. Coldplay has succeeded in creating an impeccable album which will surely please both its very first fans and everyone who has joined the club down the years.
Cheap Queen (King Princess)
Cheap Queen is the debut album from King Princess, one of the new promises on the global pop scene. Under Mark Ronson’s wing, New York-born 20-year-old Mikaela Strauss dazzles the world with a fresh, bold album that includes lyrics which openly present her as a gay artist. On top of that, King Princess composes her own songs and plays all her own instruments, creating a work that combines classic soul and R&B songs with pop-infused rhythms that entertain and leave us craving more.
Cry (Cigarettes After Sex)
Cigarettes After Sex is a Texas indie pop band led by singer and guitarist Greg González, whose dark sound has captivated an enormous number of followers all around the world. Cry, its second studio album, builds on its proven slow-core formula using crystal-clear guitars and whispery vocals to create songs that express melancholy in its purest state. With an appealing album that grows on you with every listen, González portrays both love and lost love in a style heavily inspired—like David Lynch and Lana del Rey, in their own ways—by 1950s aesthetics.
